Concrete Tile
Concrete roof tile has been manufactured for several hundred years. The styles and profiles are similar to clay tile. Manufactured in molds like clay tiles, the differences are in the raw materials. Concrete tile’s main ingredients are cement, sand, water, and color. The materials and processes that go in to making concrete tile are less expensive than clay tile making the product itself more affordable.
While being less expensive than clay tile, concrete tile roofs have shorter life expectancy. While shorter than clay tile, 50+ years for a good quality installation is adequate for most homeowners. This makes concrete tile one of the most popular hard surfaced roofing products on the market today.
PCI Tile installs all brands of concrete roof tiles. Most have similar qualities and range about the same price. The most critical differences in concrete tile roof systems are the underlayments, flashing, and installation techniques. A poorly installed concrete or clay tile roof system can literally leak or have serious problems from the moment it is complete if not done properly.
PCI Tile’s supervisors and foremen have decades of experience in properly installing these types of roofing systems. Consult with one of our experienced salesmen about your roofing needs.
